Our Mission
Refuge Center exists to better the lives of those we serve, nurturing individuals, meeting needs, and increasing opportunities for underserved and under represented populations.
Empowering Individuals, Transforming Communities
At Refuge Center, we believe in the power of compassion and community. We aim to create a positive impact through social support, educational empowerment, business development, and charitable initiatives. Together, we strive to build a better tomorrow for all.
Community Center
Our newest program is Summer Fun Camp. 3-12 grade students are able to participate in a summer long, activity packed summer experience. Tutoring to help prevent summer learning loss, supervised structured activities for improved safety, and participation in our Plants to Plates Initiative.
The Pink Restaurant
Working with the chefs of Triple B Gang we offer community support through employment and volunteerism. We work with what some consider challenging citizens. Young adults, homeless veterans, and ex-offenders find opportunities with us.
Our food pantry operates from this location or from our community center. We give food to homeless, hopeless or hungry on a daily basis and distribute to the community as a whole as regular intervals.
Agribusiness Complex
We are currently seeking funding to expand our Plants to Plates Initiative to a fully operating farm and business center in or near Rowland, NC. This Complex will provide many benefits to the community of Robeson County.
Join Us in Making a Difference
This food distribution feed more than 400 people, in a town reporting less than 1000 people this was a significant event. Giving is only part of what we do. We also offer individuals assistance in demonstrated areas of need. Empowering them through education, preparation, and increased opportunities is our focus.
